Intro to First Aid – Baby and Child CPR/Safety
The Baby and Child CPR/Safety workshop is designed for parents, parents-to-be, prenatal groups, grandparents and babysitters. If you are a childcare worker, you need to take our Red Cross Emergency Childcare First Aid & CPR program. The Baby and Child CPR/Safety workshop, facilitated by a certified Red Cross instructor will give you an introduction to first aid, CPR and safety for babies and young children.
During the session, you will practice on life-size training mannequins and learn the simple skills you need you need to save your child if they are choking or have breathing/circulation problems. Other important safety topics will be discussed and you will leave the session with skills and confidence which may one day save your child’s life.
This workshop does not replace a full First Aid/CPR program and we strongly encourage you to take a Red Cross First Aid/CPR course to build on the skills you learn in this session.
If you have an 11-15 year old child who has already taken our Babysitting program, we recommend they take the Baby and Child CPR/Safety workshop to gain additional first aid skills. As most of the workshop participants are likely to be adults, you may like to attend the workshop with your child or encourage one of their friends to register with them.
