Babysitting

The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course is designed for 11-15 year old children who wish to learn babysitting and home safety skills. We hold classes on weekends and also schedule classes to coincide with the Coquitlam school district (SD43) Pro-D days. This course provides a fun, educational opportunity for children in the Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra area while parents are at work!

*Course registration must be completed by the child’s parent or guardian

Baby and Child CPR/Safety

The Baby and Child CPR/Safety workshop is designed for parents, parents-to-be, grandparents and babysitters. Facilitated by a certified Red Cross instructor, this workshop will give you an introduction to first aid, CPR and safety for babies and young children.

If you are a child care worker or need certification, you need to take our Red Cross Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR program.

CPR/AED Level C

The Red Cross CPR/AED Level C program covers CPR and rescue breathing techniques for adults, children and babies. CPR Level C is suitable for the general public and professional rescuers (Police, Fire, First Responders, Workplace First Aid Teams, Lifeguards). Includes training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR

The Red Cross Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR program provides an overview of First Aid & CPR techniques for individuals who care for infants or children in the workplace or at home. Designed for childcare workers, parents, grandparents and babysitters,  this course is recognized by The Child Care Licensing Branch.

The Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED program includes First Aid & CPR techniques taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for home, work or play. Includes CPR Level C and AED training.

Level 1 Workplace Emergency First Aid

The Canadian Red Cross Level 1 Workplace Emergency First Aid is a hands-on interactive one day course that teaches workers how to deal with the most common workplace first aid emergencies. The 8 hour course is recognized by WorkSafe BC as equivalent to the OFA Level 1 program.

* You must be be 16 years of age or older and present valid photo ID to the instructor.

Mental Health First Aid – Basic

Mental Health First Aid – Basic is a two day course and runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm on both days. There will be three refreshment breaks including an hour for lunch. Coffee and tea are provided; please bring your own snacks and lunch.

*You must attend both days in order to receive certification.

Standard First Aid & CPR/AED

Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED is a two day course and runs from 9am to 5pm on both days. You must attend both days and also meet the required standards in order to receive certification.

The Standard First Aid includes CPR (Level C or HCP) and AED training. When you register, you will have the choice of “CPR Level C” or “CPR Level HCP”. If you are unsure which CPR level you require please contact us.

The Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR course is also recognized by the Adult and Child Care Licensing Boards.
